Riley-Ford EcoBoost This 2013 racer incorporated Ford's ultra efficient 3.5 litre, twin turbo V6, with Riley Technologies Daytona Prototype to produce a Daytona track record of 223 mph. Seen here in 2014 during the Mobil 1 twelve hour event at Sebring, with Chip Ganassi at the wheel. Smart

Sauber Mercedes C9 This 1987-90 racer combined construction by Sauber (Swiss) and a Mercedes 5 litre twin turbo V8 engine. Its best performance was a win in 1989 Le Mans 24 when it reached 247 mph down the Mulsanne Straight in the qualifying round. Great shot
